Tree Coral

Coral has become a symbol of human destructive power of life on the planet. Their slow growth, fragility and inability to thrive under unstable conditions, epitomise the problems of an aggressive extractive mentality and  its environmental implications.

In an attempt to slow the pace and respectfully observe other life forms, through the simple lens  of  humble plain beauty:  ‘Three Coral’ constitutes a part of a series of hand carved alabaster and marble sculptures created around the subject of marine and vegetal life patterns.
